La Regata delle Bisse è una tradizionale gara remiera che vede la partecipazione di imbarcazioni storiche, risalenti all’epoca della Repubblica Veneta; ha sempre suscitato grande passione e interesse, esercitando un’intensa influenza sugli usi e costumi dei comuni della Riviera del Garda e dando vita a una lunga lista di tradizioni.
Ne è un esempio il Palio delle Contrade di Garda che si svolge ogni anno il 15 di agosto*, giorno di Ferragosto. Anche questa festa tradizionale ha origini veneziane.
Ferragosto è la festa dell’Assunta, patrona della città. In suo onore, i membri delle diverse contrade del paese si sfidano durante una gara notturna in barca a remi.
Protagoniste della gara, oltre ai quattro vogatori, sono proprio le Bisse, barche tradizionali, utilizzate nel passato come mezzo di trasporto o per la pesca.
Assistere alla competizione di notte è davvero suggestivo e non mancano ogni anno molti spettatori e curiosi.
La contrada vincitrice avrà l’onere e l’onore di conservare la statua della Madonna dell’Assunta fino all’anno successivo.
Alla fine della competizione, grande spettacolo pirotecnico e un ricco programma di intrattenimento.
The Regata delle Bisse is a traditional rowing race that sees the participation of historic boats, dating back to the era of the Venetian Republic; it has always aroused great passion and interest, exerting an intense influence on the customs and traditions of the towns of the Riviera and giving life to a long list of traditions.
An example of this is the Palio delle Contrade in Garda which takes place every year on August 15th

Mid-August is the feast of Our Lady of the Assumption, the patron saint of the city. In her honor, the members of the different districts of the city compete in a night rowing race.
The stars of this race, in addition to the 4 rowers, are the Bisse, these traditional boats, used in the past as means of transportation or for fishing.
Watching the competition at night is really spectacular and there are many visitors attending this event every year.
The winning district will have the burden and the honor of keeping the statue of Our Lady of the Assumption until the following year.
At the end of the competition, a great fireworks show and a rich entertainment program.
